Walter O. Bockting, Ph.D., is the 2009-2011 Past-President of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. He is Professor and Coordinator of Transgender Health Services, Program in Human Sexuality, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, University of Minnesota Medical School. He also is a founding member of the university’s Leo Fung Center for CAH and Disorders of Sex Development. Dr. Bockting has more than 20 years of direct clinical experience serving the transgender population. Currently, he leads a multidisciplinary team providing tailored health services to transgender children, adolescents, and adults and their families. Dr. Bockting teaches medical students, physicians, and psychologists to work competently with this population. His research has focused on the sexual health of various sexual- and ethnic-minority populations, and has been funded by the American Foundation for AIDS Research, the Minnesota Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He currently is conducting a randomized controlled trial to study the efficacy of an Internet-based, transgender-specific health promotion intervention. Dr. Bockting has edited five volumes, including Transgender Health and HIV Prevention (Haworth Press, 2005) and Guidelines for Transgender Care (Haworth Press, 2007), and has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles. He is Editor of the International Journal of Transgenderism. A frequent consultant, Dr. Bockting has served on the American Psychological Association’s Task Force on Gender Identity, Gender Variance, and Intersex Issues and the Institute of Medicine Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health Issues and Research Gaps and Opportunities. He is a member of WPATH since 1989. | |

Dr. Lin Fraser is President of WPATH. She saw her first transgender client in 1972 and has been in private practice with a gender subspecialty since 1976. Over the years, she has seen hundreds of people all along the transgender spectrum. She is a charter member of WPATH (then HBIGDA) and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. She presents regularly at symposia, serves on the IJT editorial board, and is co-editor of the WPATH Update. She participates in education and advocacy through teaching, consulting, working with the judicial system, and appearing in the media to educate others about transgender health. Her main activity, however, remains her private practice and she considers it her daily privilege to see, listen to and learn from transgender people during the process of psychotherapy. | |

Jamison Green is President-Elect of WPATH. He is also the International Guidelines Manager at the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF Medical School), a legal scholar, and owner of a small consulting firm specializing in transgender education and policy consulting. He has been active in educating about transgender and transsexual health, civil rights, and social safety for over 20 years. He is the author of the prize-winning book “Becoming a Visible Man” (Vanderbilt University Press, 2004), as well as numerous journal articles. Among his many awards are the Transgender Advocate Award from the National LGBT Bar Association for his law and policy work, and a Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Gay & Lesbian Psychiatrists for his contributions to LGBT mental health. | |

Gail Knudson MD, MPE, FRCPC is Secretary-Treasurer of WPATH. She is the Medical Director of the Transgender Health Program at Vancouver Coastal Health, Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia Department of Sexual Medicine, Consultant Psychiatrist at the British Columbia Centre for Sexual Medicine at Vancouver Hospital & Faculty Development Leader for the Island Medical Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. Dr Knudson has been involved in developing and writing Canadian and international best practice guidelines for Transgender Health. She was the co-chair of the WPATH DSM V Consensus Committee and currently sits on committee drafting the WPATH Standards of Care (Version 7). From 2009-2011, Dr Knudson is serving as the Secretary Treasurer of WPATH. She is the founder and former President of the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health (CPATH) where she chairs two committees. She is an active member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) serving on the Nominating Committee and Education Committee and Chair-Elect of the Sexuality Special Interest Group for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. | |
