WPATH Welcomes Applications for the Following Membership


Full professional membership is available to professionals working in disciplines such as medicine, psychology, law, social work, nursing, counseling, psychotherapy, family studies, sociology, anthropology, speech and voice therapy, sexology, pharmacology and other related fields. Full membership costs $210 (US) per year, and carries voting privileges within the Association. 

Least Developed Countries - Full professional membership is available to professionals working in disciplines such as medicine, psychology, law, social work, nursing, counseling, psychotherapy, family studies, sociology, anthropology, speech and voice therapy, sexology, pharmacology and other related fields. A reduced fee is offered for individuals residing in least developed countries as identified by the World Bank. Full membership costs $70 (US) per year, and carries voting privileges within the Association. 

Supporting membership is available to individuals who do not work in the professional disciplines listed above, but still have an interest in being an active member of the organization. Supporting membership costs $210 (US) per year, and carries no voting privileges. 

Emeritus membership is for current members of the Association who have been full members for the previous three years consecutively and have fully retired, making them eligible for a reduced membership rate set currently at $150 (US). Emeritus members carry voting privileges within the Association.

Student members ($35 US, per year) are individuals enrolled in a graduate program who, upon graduation, would be eligible for professional membership in the association. Program areas include medicine, law, the social sciences, and other academic and applied disciplines, the practice of which contribute to the well-being of transsexual, transgender, and gender-nonconforming individuals, and to the field of transgender health.
