WPATH is thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the 27th Scientific Symposium, being held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, September 16 – 20, 2022.

For the first time ever, WPATH is able to offer the symposium in a hybrid format, with two ways to attend the Scientific Symposium, so more people can learn, view, collaborate, and interact.

CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION - The 27th Scientific Symposium will be accredited for ACCME Category 1 Credits, ANCC, APA, and ASWB Credit Hours.

WPATH will offer a live Surgeon's Only Course at the DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal on September 16 and 17, 2022, prior to the WPATH 27th Scientific Symposium. This program is specifically geared towards the Surgeon and Surgical Team Members, and is only available to those who plan to register and attend the live Symposium in Montreal. If you have any questions about eligibility to attend, please contact wpath@wpath.org.
 

Live GEI Pre Courses 

WPATH is thrilled to offer the following Pre Courses live at the DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal on September 16 and 17, 2022, prior to the WPATH 27th Scientific Symposium. These Pre Courses are only available to attendees who plan to register and attend the live Symposium in Montreal. 
 
WPATH GEI (2-Day) Foundations Course (September 16 + September 17, 2022) - LIMITED SEATS AVAILABLE
The WPATH GEI (2-Day) Foundations Course is intended for healthcare professionals of all experience levels and specialties, this is a two-day training course that focuses on the importance of an interdisciplinary care team approach and cross-specialty foundational knowledge. It includes what all providers should know about gender development, mental health considerations, policy and ethical issues, primary care and preventative health, puberty blockers and hormonal treatment, surgical overviews and much more, with the implementation of the Standards of Care and the Core Competencies.
 
WPATH GEI (1-Day) Advanced Medical Course (September 16, 2022) - LIMITED SEATS AVAILABLE
The WPATH GEI (1-Day) Advanced Medical Course is a full-day training course that focuses on advanced hormonal treatment and complications, co-occurring conditions, general health, ongoing primary care and aging. On overview of gender-affirming surgeries as well as perioperative care will also be presented. Complicated case discussion helps to further understand care and treatment across multiple medical specialties. Presentation format includes didactic and interactive discussion. The Advanced Medical course is for individuals that have already attended the Foundations course.
 
WPATH GEI (1-Day) Advanced Mental Health Course (September 16, 2022)
The WPATH GEI (1-Day) Advanced Mental Health Course is a full-day training that delves into advanced psychotherapy topics including the Person of the Therapist ("countertransference"), conceptualizing gender identities, intersectionality, neurodiversity and autism, trauma, complex co-occurring conditions, and identity development/intergration in daily life (e.g., dating, jobs, and family relationships). This program is didactic and interactive, and attendee participation is encouraged. Complicated cases will be discussed, and there will be Q and A time. The Advanced Mental Health course is for individuals that have already attended the Foundations course.
 
WPATH GEI Advanced Child & Adolescent Workshop (September 17, 2022) - LIMITED SEATS AVAILABLE
The WPATH GEI Advanced Child & Adolescent Workshop is an advanced workshop that includes information on assessment, hormones and fertility, sexual health for adolescents, and working with parents and families. Case-based discussions are an integral part of this intensive workshop. WPATH GEI Advanced Workshops are a part of our advanced track and are intended for those who have already completed the Foundations Course.
 
WPATH GEI Advanced Ethics Workshop (September 17, 2022)
The WPATH GEI Advanced Ethics Workshop is an ever-evolving course that includes robust discussion on ethics and moral principles, ethics in surgery and interdisciplinary care, ethics in child & adolescent care, ethical dilemmas, anticipated concerns and barriers to care. This workshop will involve interdisciplinary panels with interactive discussion.
 
WPATH GEI Neurodiversity Workshop (September 17, 2022)
The WPATH GEI Neurodiversity Workshop will take place on September 17, 2022, Exact Time TBD. Please stay tuned for more information about the workshop topics that will be covered. WPATH GEI Advanced Workshops are a part of our advanced track and are intended for those who have already completed the Foundations Course.

Cancellation / Registration Adjustment Policy
 

All cancellations for the 2022 WPATH 27th Scientific Symposium must be submitted in writing by email to wpath@wpath.org.
 
WPATH will retain 10% of the registration fees paid if your registration is cancelled prior to August 15, 2022, to cover administrative fees. No refunds will be issued after August 15, 2022. Cancellations will be accepted in writing only, via email to wpath@wpath.org.
 
Switching from in-person attendance to virtual attendance with a refund of the fee difference by August 15,2022, you will be charged 10% to cover administration fees, after August 15, 2022, the fee will be $50. Adjustments will be accepted in writing only, via email to wpath@wpath.org.
 
Switching from virtual attendance to in-person attendance will not incur any administrative fees, other than paying the difference in registration rates. Adjustments will be accepted in writing only, via email to wpath@wpath.org, and a special code will be sent to you with instructions on how to upgrade to in-person.
